We’re big fans of the bakery Eric Kayser, which is very well respected in Paris and across France, so we were excited to hear that a branch had opened in Abu Dhabi Mall. We’d forgive you if you haven’t noticed it though, as the store is very well hidden – to find it, head to Café Nero and you will find it in a corner of the mall.

Although the patisseries on offer are not the nicest we’ve tasted, the bread (especially the sour bread tourte) is to us, the best in Abu Dhabi. Buy a loaf and have it sliced – it will easily last for 2-3 days before starting to go stale and even when you freeze and defrost it, it will still be incredibly moist. Perfection, however, has it price – so be prepared to pay 46 AED for a large loaf/26 AED for a small one. We still think it’s well worth it for this level of quality.

While you are there, we highly recommend adding a few Croissants and Pain au Chocolat to your basket for a treat – they are light, fluffy and truly delicious. Our mouth is watering at the thought!
