A new family destination with gorgeous views, sports entertainment, and food options
We still have a couple of weeks to spend time outdoors in the city before summer hits the Capital and the weather becomes too warm for a half-a-day by the promenade.
Just back from The Dock Cultural District in Abu Dhabi, we couldn’t wait to share our latest find. We advise you to take guests, friends, and family along one of these weekends.
Never heard of this new district?
It is actually located close to Louvre Abu Dhabi and once you approach Louvre Abu Dhabi; you will easily see some directions signs on the road mentioning this new district. Oh, and there is a convenient parking to leave the car.
This district is kind of an outdoor plaza and promenade facing the Louvre. During the Winter and Spring seasons, you will love discovering the architecture of Louvre Abu Dhabi from a distance and walk along the recently built pedestrian paths.
The views of the museum are breathtaking and a must-see.
Not much publicized yet, we spent a wonderful afternoon outdoors walking along the docks all the way to the museum entrance while stopping at a new playground next to Louvre Abu Dhabi (it has a zip line that many kids were waiting to try) and then back to the Dock District.
We also noticed a couple of trendy food trucks settled there, ideal to visit before or after wandering around the Dock Cultural District. @Arabica UAE makes its debut in Abu Dhabi and we fancied having a matcha latte comfortably settled in bean bags with freshly baked warm churros from @Followybrd.
If you prefer having a proper pause, there are a couple of tables here on the plaza to enjoy a bite from @Andiamo truck UAE, @Burger Kitchen,…
Spend the afternoon by the water
We also noticed there are different water activities to enjoy there proposed by @jalbootuae, daily between 3 pm and 9 pm, including renting an eco donut boat, paddling or kayaking.
After a first visit at afternoon time- we can’t wait to go check this spot again in the evening to enjoy dinner outdoors at one of the food trucks while watching sun set over Louvre Abu Dhabi from such a close distance.
