A New Photography Exhibition at Le Royal Meridien in Abu Dhabi

Looking for a cultural outing this January 2018? We have you sorted as there is a new photography exhibition in Abu Dhabi, starting from the 9th of January until the 29th of January 2018.

This new exhibition, called ‘Terraforming’ is held at Le Royal Meridien in Abu Dhabi and is prepared in collaboration with Sarah Jordan Associates. It showcases photographies by British photographer Duncan Chard.

Duncan Chard has been living in the UAE for the last 12 years and managed to capture beautiful black and white cliches that all of us living in the UAE will relate to and show in his compositions the diversity of cultures, landscapes, people we are surrounded by. We had a look at his work online and cannot wait to go visit the exhibition.

“I want the viewer to feel they are on the outside looking in, because this is how I feel on a very personal level about my own role in society. I’m an expat, and this isn’t my country. Yet, while I don’t belong here, I still love the UAE. We all live in a world which is seemingly becoming more turbulent as it seeks to reject globalisation, yet the UAE, seeks to embrace it. I see all around me popular culture from all over the world, and that makes feel that this is the place where the future begins” said Duncan Chard about his work.
