REMOTE ABU DHABI RETURNS IN 2016​

Experience the city as never before in the site-specific guided art tour.

During the seventh edition of Abu Dhabi Art last November 2015, Remote Abu Dhabi was a​ semi-scripted participatory art performance that created a buzz and was fully booked during Abu Dhabi Art. If just like us, you were unable to attend, you may rejoice as due to popular demand, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority proposes new dates to join this ​Abu Dhabi ​art tour​ from January to March 2016​.

Designed by ​Berlin based ​art collective Rimini Protokoll, ​they have created a site-specific edition of their ongoing international initiative for the city of Abu Dhabi.

In each two hour performance of Remote Abu Dhabi, a group of up to 50 participants will be guided around the city of Abu Dhabi by a computer-generated voice that speaks through headphones, in English or Arabic.

A dramatic narrative will unfold as the group moves through unfamiliar parts of the cityscape, experiencing Abu Dhabi as never before.

We just took part in this tour with other participants that included kids, students, young adults, retired people (all from different nationalities reflecting the population of Abu Dhabi) and all left with a huge smile on our faces, thanking the organizers for such a great initiative.
