A NEW WRAPPING METHOD TO TREAT CELLULITE IN ABU DHABI

The body wrap treatment that can get rid of the ‘orange peel skin’ and help regain body confidence

Feeling uncomfortable spending a day at the beach or by the pool because of unsightly lumps and bumps on your thighs? Having cellulite is indeed a common concern for nearly 90 percent of ladies over the age of 20. Most of us have to admit it’s not that easy to get rid of this form of fat that can be very stubborn.

We were lucky enough to get the chance to experience the Cellulite Melting Wrap from Arosha, a brand new program available in Abu Dhabi at the American Surgecenter.

On your first visit the technician begins by taking measurements, then examining the body to advice clients on their problem areas and the next steps. The upper and lower parts of the body, such as arms, abdomen, legs, thighs, hips and buttocks can all be treated.

How does this Cellulite Body Wrap work?

A typical session lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes and consists of the following steps : first measurements, then the technician brushes your body to remove the dead skin. This ancient exfoliating technique is known to stimulate the lymphatic system and the microcirculation while removing dead skin.

She then sprays the body with a glycolic acid – acting like a desinfectant – in order to eliminate and break down the lipids and proteins between the dead cells and the superficial layers of the skin. This step is important as it facilitates the absorption of the active ingredients that are applied just after through the bandages covering the body areas to be treated.

During the first and last session, the technician applies a ‘slim cel’ on the areas being treated to help fight water retention and remineralizes the skin. For the other sessions, a ‘lipho cel’ is applied which will dissolve stored fat and reduce contours of the treated area. Made from a combination of caffeine and L-Carnitine, it has a weird fishy smell but you easily get used to it after a couple of sessions.

Then comes the fun part when you stand up to be wrapped in wet and warm bandages called ‘aqua drain’. For maximum hygiene, the disposable bandages are pre-packed.

Next you lie down, wrapped in a plastic film and heating blanket for 30 minutes. The treatment and the warmth make you sweat a lot that helps remove stagnant fluids and toxins from the body. It is important to drink at least 1 liter of water before and after the session to avoid getting dehydrated. During these 30 minutes, we were surprised to see ourselves feeling so relaxed that we even slept for a couple of minutes after a few sessions. The technician comes regularly to check that everything is fine and that you feel comfortable. Ruby, the massage therapist also massaged our hair for the last 10-15 minutes of each session which was an added bonus and something we will miss now that the sessions are over.

After 30 minutes, the technician opens the heating blanket which definitely always made us appreciate the freshness of the room. After cutting the bandages and drying the body, she completed the session by applying an AROSHA cream and firmly massaging the body zones that were treated in order to increase the circulation. This is the only part that is always a bit harsh but remember it helps break down the cellulite, so its worth the discomfort.

It’s better to take a shower before sleeping at night so that the skin can absorb the cream throughout the day.

Our experience:

We had no secondary effects and carefully followed the instructions to consume no caffeine as it can cause dizziness.

This is not about a miracle treatment but it does visually improve the skin overall -smooth, firm with reduced orange peel-, and we were happy to observe a welcomed decrease session after session in our measurements (average decrease of 6 cm in the upper treated areas: abdomen, and of 3 cm for the thighs and knees).

As you can see immediate and effective results with decreasing measurements session after session, this program gives a kick and acts as a booster to getting back into shape. We suggest incorporating a healthy lifestyle with the treatment including cardio exercises, healthy food and lots of water.
