% Arabica is a specialty coffee shop from Kyoto now in Abu Dhabi

Originally from Kyoto, % Arabica opened their first specialty coffee shop in Abu Dhabi on the Corniche (see location map below).

Minimalist decor and individual cabins for more privacy

Located at the ground floor of a tower close to the iconic ADIA building, the coffee spot is easily recognizable with a clean outdoor setting (benches and tables with an industrial flair mixing wood, concrete, and iron). Inside the coffee shop, we loved the wall filled with a Japanese coffee bags displayed in a floor to ceiling vitrine – as in a cabinet of curiosities or a museum gallery. The minimalist bench and table seating makes this coffee the ideal place to bring your laptop and work.

What is more surprising is the long corridor facing the facade that distributes lovely and cosy capsules or cabins  – fitting 4 to 6 people – where you can enjoy your coffee fix in a more intimate way. Quite sure this setting will be a hit in the city!

The story behind % ARABICA

Kenneth Shoji founded % Arabica because of his need to have ‘an amazing cup of coffee everyday’. He went on to buy a coffee farm in Hawaii, started a bean trading company, became the sole exporter of a Japanese roasting machine called Tornado King and sole distributor of one of the best espresso machines in the world called Slayer.

More about the menu

The menu is split into Espresso Based coffees including espresso, espresso macchiato, café latte and Americano. There is also the Spanish Latte served hot or iced and with a choice priced between AED 23 and AED 27. The Spanish Latte is one of their best-sellers in Dubai.

For the coffee purists, there are the drip based options served short or then brewed in a Chemex (AED 34). We personally went for their matcha latte that you can enjoy unsweetened or not (25AED) and either warm or iced.

If you’d like to take some coffee beans home, ask for their coffee menu as % ARABICA also provides a large coffee beans selection that you can purchase per 250g or 500g.

% Arabica will surely be our go-to spot for a caffeine fix when driving along the Corniche.

Convenient parking area in front of the cafe.
