McGettigan’s is a brand new Irish Pub that’s just opened in Abu Dhabi and it has fast become our new go-to.
If you’ve ever visited Ireland you’ll know it’s loved for its natural landscapes and great hospitality. As soon as you enter an Irish pub you instantly feel welcomed and relaxed. So when the new McGettigan’s Pub opened in Abu Dhabi we couldn’t wait to visit.
The McGettigan’s story began in 1964 with the opening of their first pub in Dublin. A few decades later McGettigan’s was introduced to the Middle East and now has 3 pubs in Dubai and now 1 in Abu Dhabi.
Firstly, the venue is huge and it’s divided into different zones. You can opt for the non-smoking dining area that looks like a library, which is great if you’re looking for a quieter area to enjoy conversations with friends, the bar area with booths and stools, or the busy dining area which is close to the stage with live entertainment.
Customers are welcome anytime as the pub is opened daily from noon to 3am. Their menu includes Irish classics such as beef and Guinness pie as well as good old fish and chips. Their sample platter for two which features their signature hot wings, fat chips, panko prawns, calamari and onion rings is a great option if sharing with friends.
The pub also hosts an array of great events during the week including ladies nights, pub quizzes, Friday brunch and live concerts.
All in all, it was a great first visit and certainly not our last to this great Irish pub.
