BROT: A NEW GERMAN BAKERY IN AL ZEINA

We can’t help but immediately share any place we discover in Abu Dhabi that is selling fresh varieties of bread. Our latest pick just recently opened its doors and already has us hooked.

BROT – which means Loaf of bread in German – is a German bakery located in Al Zeina, inside Andiamo restaurant. This new bakery sits beside Local Cafe (a coffee spot, barber shop & concept store worth checking out too – review here).

We are so impressed by their selection of lye pretzels and lye sticks baked daily. They also prepare different appetizing viennoiseries such as traditional croissants and a triangle version – a combination of a bread roll, pretzel and croissant, made with 19% butter – we have to pick it up each time we go there!

Bread lovers are in luck as there are around 10 or more different varieties of bread such as wild wheat, multigrain baguette, pumpkin seed, spiced bread, apple & walnut or rustic olive breads to name a few. The next must-try on our list is the individual dark potato and sweet potato rolls sold per unit.

If you have a sweet tooth, you may want to taste their homemade desserts that have a traditionalGerman flair. Displayed under glass domes, they are extremely tantalizing. The bakery also sells individual slices of chocolate cherry cake, apple hazelnut cake, apple cake on sand mass, marble cake and more.

BROT is open daily from 7 am onwards, which means lucky Al Zeina residents can even get their freshly baked croissant daily before heading to work. So unfair!
