Wind Down the Weekend in Ghantoot
Blue Marlin Ibiza honestly makes us think of Deep House DJ-hosted parties where the young and beautiful toast to working hard and playing hard. But actually, the chic, tucked-away venue offers more than just that, with Saturdays reserved for a more low-key series of themed brunches.
These afternoons are flexible enough to be both classy and casual as you can choose to either brunch on chairs and tables, or in your swimwear on sun loungers at waterfront. We chose the fully-clothed option on this occasion.
Like the theme, the a la carte menu changes often, but on this particular “Jazzy” Saturday visit, we received a widely international selection of small dishes, including sushi, mince beef flatbreads with pine nuts and tahini sauce, sizzling beef skewers, soft tofu tacos, a fluffy fish puff served with mint sauce, chicken spring rolls generously drizzled in a sweet and spicy sauce, couscous salad and the winning raw salmon salad tossed in yuzu mayo.
After a palate-cleansing sorbet came moreish black ravioli stuffed with prawn and lobster, some thinly-sliced Wagyu beef, then bread pudding and a flute of citrus-y sorbet to end.
It’s a pretty place to really soak up the weather this time of year, and we really enjoyed the live entertainment – both the soulful DJ and visiting jazz band were top-notch in their song selections to set the tone for a relaxed end to the weekend.
