Dai Pai Dong, the latest addition at the Galleria Mall and part of Rosewood Hotel recently launched an offer you won’t resist. The “All you can eat Dim Sum lunch” offer at Dai Pai Dong Abu Dhabi is priced at 75 AED* only and available on weekdays from 12 noon to 3pm. Perfect for the budget!
A few words first about this new Cantonese spot in the Capital
Quietly nestled inside The Galleria at the ground floor, it is located close to Bentley and faces the huge dragon statue in the hall.
“Dai Pai Dong” are open-air food stalls in Hong Kong, and here the hotel has kept that same authentic concept with a slightly more sleek and cozy interior.
Sliding wooden panels used for the facade allow the curious visitors to glance at the restaurant interior. Stepping in the restaurant, we liked the decor at first sight. Divided into different booths separated with Chinese style fences, it’s a bit dark but it adds to the intimate ambiance, the kitchen is open and it’s a pleasure watching the busy chefs working.
On each table, there is a dim sum menu with a pencil for you to select your items if you’re on a tight schedule.
Some may prefer enjoying the outdoor quiet terrace overlooking the Tourist Club area and skyline.

The All You Can Eat Offer
We ordered a variety of baked, fried and steamed dim sum, rice rolls and a pork and preserved egg congee along with a sweet corn chicken soup. Our order arrived soon after and the table was filled with different appetizing bowls and bamboo baskets.
The vegetable and mushroom rice roll was crispy on top and creamy inside. The classic Har Gow Shrimp Dumpling was great and the Chinese vegetable Bao had a delightful thick but very soft bun. Give a try to their chicken rice cooked inside a lotus leaf that preserves the juices and adds a gentle flavor to the meat.
The Spring onion cake reminded us of a salted version of a Danish roll and was a nice pick.
To end on a sweet note, the Hong Kong egg tart is very close to our favorite Portuguese Pasteis de Nata: same crust, lighter egg cream with a citrus aroma. The mochi fans will go for the rice roll (similar paste) filled with the classic red bean paste.
With 17 different items to choose from in total in this menu including three desserts, the choice is too wide for a single visit and we concluded it deserves a second visit very soon.
