We are so excited! The legendary French Brasserie Fouquet’s just opened its doors at Louvre Abu Dhabi
It is now official: Brasserie Fouquet’s has taken up residence inside Louvre Abu Dhabi since the end of January 2020, with a menu created in collaboration with Pierre Gagnaire.
If you are not familiar with the Fouquet’s brand, it has been the place to go for Parisian food lovers in search of top-quality brasserie-style classics for more than a century – it opened in Paris in 1889 – with the initial restaurant located at the corner of avenue George V and the Champs-Elysées.
Since then, the brasserie rolled out from Paris and expanded to Cannes, Toulouse, Marrakech, La Baule, Enghien-Les-Bains, Courchevel and Montreux and now Abu Dhabi, the very first location in the Middle East.
Set at the heart of Louvre in Abu Dhabi, this exceptional project – Fouquet’s 9th Brasserie – is a symbol of openness to the world, promising a gourmet experience to be shared in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, in traditional Parisian brasserie style, whilst respecting the local culture.
Drawing inspiration from the museum’s elegant and artistic architecture, designed by Jean Nouvel, Fouquet’s Abu Dhabi will also remain true to the brand’s aesthetic codes with its unique ambience and distinctive red leather armchairs. Created in conjunction with Chef Pierre Gagnaire, the menu will propose a number of Fouquet’s signature dishes, whilst adapting to the local culture and an international clientèle.
There is a dedicated website that shows a couple of starters, mains and desserts the new restaurant will propose A La Carte (no prices though). The images of the dishes already have us salivating and wanting to book a table soon.
Their Facebook and Instagram accounts also mention other dishes the restaurant will feature, including Beef Tartar, Burgundy snails, and many more French classics.
Do note there is no need to enter the Louvre Abu Dhabi museum to access the restaurant as it has its own private entrance via Gate 2.
«The arrival of Fouquet’s at Louvre Abu Dhabi is a milestone in the international development of the Barrière Group. Thanks to our strong iconic concept and our expertise, we are legitimate to associate ourselves with a place whose cultural and artistic value is well established. Barrière is proud to be able to offer, from next year, our Parisian brasserie’s main dishes mixed with local flavours in such a symbolic place.» says Dominique Desseigne, President and CEO.
