It has been a while since we have been patiently waiting for the official opening of THE MARKET in Mushrif Mall and finally the wait is over!
The Market is the first indoor market of its kind in the UAE and we are amazed at what it has to offer.
At the moment, there are three main sections that are open: the farmer’s Market dedicated to veggies, fruits and many varieties of dates. The Meat section offers a variety of stalls including our favorite BBQ meat from Springbok Butchery (see our article about them here).
But it is the Fish Market that is the most impressive.
Opened daily from 7am to 10pm on weekdays, and 7am to 11 pm on weekends, we can now head there whenever we want to pick up some fresh fish.
More than 30 shops sell local fish such as barracuda, malabar, sweet libs, tipalia, kufdar and many more. What we also liked is that we can purchase seafood products from other countries such as India, Pakistan, Oman, Yemen, Turkey, Europe as there are more than 30 stalls all geographically classified.
Dried fish from Philippines, ‘Claire de Fines’ oysters and bigorneaux from Europe, caviar locally produced in Mussaffah are among the variety of products supplied.
We can’t get enough of this place and are excited to discover all the new tastes and products available. A must-visit market that will most certainly change the way we eat and shop.
