We all know Bateel for its gourmet products and exquisite choice of dates that just melt in the mouth.
That’s why we were anxious to visit their latest Café Bateel at the newly opened ‘Nation Galleria’ in Abu Dhabi.
To begin with the location is great and offers a wonderful view on the Corniche and the turquoise sea, especially if you opt for the outdoor terrace that is thankfully fully equipped with a cooling system!
We thoroughly enjoyed the Brezaola sandwich with brown bread– served with thinly sliced cured beef, artichoke hearts, shaved Parmesan and the flavorful Bateel date mustard.
If you are into mixing sweet and savory tastes, then the Bateel couscous is worth trying. A mix of boiled bulghur with diced apricots, figs, Kholas dates, tomatoes, fava beans, and chickpeas with a lemon dressing-it is hearty and delicious.
The yellow fin tuna salad is a must-try and is served with farro wild wheat, veggies and the signature Bateel balsamic dressing.
Guilty of having a sweet tooth, we adored the sticky toffee pudding that was topped with yogurt ice cream and caramelized pecans and had a butterscotch reduction drizzled on top.
Their dinner menu is also quite extensive and we are definitely planning to head back there to try it out!
