THE BUFFET AT SAHHA IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST-TRY

Enjoy an authentic and hearty buffet showcasing world cuisine made with love

Next time you are looking for a buffet to go out with friends, the new restaurant at Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel & Residences Emirates Pearl is a good one to pick! We are just back from this newly opened Sahha restaurant and can’t stop thinking about the meal.

Located at P2 level, the restaurant offers plenty of space and light; there are indoor and outdoor seats with gorgeous views at nighttime, as the terrace faces the sea and overlooks the hotel pools and beachside below.

On their website, Sahha describes itself as “an adventurous market where every visit serves a new, exciting culinary experience”.

Once seated, our tastebuds started getting excited browsing the buffet selection as there were plenty of colorful salads and cold appetizers to pick from, all very nicely arranged.
The concept of Sahha, which means “Health” in Arabic, is all about proposing hearty and wholesome dishes from around the world (Asian, Europe, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, India cuisine… ). Don’t get us wrong, it is not just another international buffet as the Chefs working at Sahha all come from many different countries and have carefully selected wholesome recipes they cherish from their home countries for guests to try.

It is like a family buffet dinner at a restaurant scale! You can definitely tell what this concept is all about while visiting the buffet stalls – filled with gorgeous preparations we were dying to try – and there is always a Chef around to give more insight about which dish to pick, why it is a must-try and where it comes from.

The salad corner was just amazing and we had to refrain ourselves from trying too many cold appetizers and keep some appetite to try the mains.

If you are into Asian food, guests can prepare their own chicken noodle soup, picking all cooked and raw ingredients – cooked chicken and noodles, vegetables and parsley or lime and broth – to assemble their own personalized soup. Chefs keep preparing different dumplings throughout the evening and you get to try different options whenever you visit the stall.

We tried and really enjoyed the Hasan Pasa Kofta  – a Turkish dish where the meat was melting in the mouth. Vegans or vegetarians shouldn’t worry as they have a lot of options apart from the salad buffet, there are also many warm options to grab, from the smoked eggplant puree – just fab – to the fried noodles veg and tofu, or the Wok-fried Veg with oyster sauce to name a few. There are live cooking stations that will rustle up fresh, hot and delicious favorites (Pakistani bread, fish cooked in banana leaves… ).

Don’t miss the cheese corner close to the terrace offering a wide selection of cheese from UK, France, Switzerland and more, with a large selection of homemade breads.

The desserts include a couple of options we tried for the very first time, such as coconut balls from Argentina, and a creme brulee with a twist. If you just want to end with fruits, you are just spoilt for choice (see below) as there is a whole counter displaying more variety than you can imagine. Well done!

Verdict? We will be definitely be back there to try some more recipes as the whole team of Chefs brings with them the passion and tradition of comforting homemade food from across the globe celebrating their countries’ culinary traditions.

To be honest, we haven’t had a buffet in Abu Dhabi for long that offers such a wholesome and satisfying meal.
