Eclectic home decor at its best in Abu Dhabi boutique Bits and Pieces
Since its launch in Abu Dhabi in 2013, Bits and Pieces has offered shoppers a new retail concept, providing access to exclusive home interior brands from the region and beyond. Eye-catching contemporary designs, many of which feature subtle Arabian touches, have been hand-picked from a selection of 60 home brands, including the famous Lebanese designer Nada Debs.
Unlike most Abu Dhabi shops, Bits and Pieces is not located in a mall and offers a unique shopping experience spread throughout a series of rooms featuring handmade glassware, textiles, home accessories and more. There’s a corner dedicated to beautiful stationary and entire rooms set aside for exotic fragrances to fill the home with beautiful aromas.
In addition, prices are pleasingly accessible, making it easy to drop in and stock up on new accessories for the home or gifts for friends. Favourite items from our most recent visit include the following:
Pretty pieces
We loved the playful selection of items for the kitchen and home from Rae Dunn by Magenta. This San Francisco designer’s handmade white ceramics are cast into simple shapes inspired by natural earth forms. Her work is influenced by the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi, which embraces the beauty of imperfect, impermanent and incomplete work.
The vase below costs 345 AED.

Those looking for aesthetic and educational coffee table books will find plenty of options in the Bits and Pieces library to suit all tastes from an anthology of Chanel perfumes or the story of Jean Paul Hevin – the multi-awarded French Chocolate master – to books on design, decoration and more.
Â
Bits and Pieces has already earned a reputation for its wide range of scented diffusers and candles for the home. From floral fragrances to spa-style scents, there is a huge array of aromas to choose from. Two lines recently added to the collection include:
Â
The Panpuri “Femme Fatale” perfumed candle range features a series of candles each associated with a famous femme fatale, including Marilyn Monroe, Scarlett O’Hara and Matta Hari.
Each candle is priced at 300 AED.
Â
Carefully blended with 100% pure essential oils, the famous UK NEOM Organics candles are said to work as therapeutic treatments to help you de-stress, feel happier, sleep or get energized.
Prices start from 350 AED.

Jordanian handmade art pottery
Bits and Pieces offers a wide selection of handmade Silsal ceramics from Jordan. We love this contemporary dinnerware line, which keeps local traditions alive and incorporates graphic calligraphy into the design. Prices start from 340 AED. Bits and Pieces has also introduced a more affordable Silsal series of products such as colorful trays and tissue boxes, available in store.
