For some students, it just clicks but for many, maths is the subject they dread. Complicated formulas, lengthy sums and strange symbols that don’t seem to make sense can be off-putting to young minds struggling to master the basics. It is, however, possible for everyone to understand and even learn to like maths, so long as they adopt the right approach.

This is the belief propounded by Mathnasium, a dedicated maths learning centre in Abu Dhabi that helps students develop a positive attitude towards the subject. With four age categories, ranging from three to five years up to 15 and over, the centre offers a solution to struggling students at all school levels.

Each new pupil is given a thorough maths assessment before a personalised learning programme is developed targeting their specific needs.

After 10 sessions, the majority of students have improved the result of their initial assessment by 27 percentage points and are seeing marked improvement in their maths performance at school.
