Introducing H&M’s big sister!
Part of the H&M Group, COS, which stands for Collection Of Style, is for men and women who want high-end design and good quality at an affordable price. Since the brand’s launch in 2007, COS has become known for its clean and modern aesthetic.
The coveted clothing label once exclusively available to those in Europe has recently opened a store in Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi while Dubai has had a boutique in the Dubai Mall since 2013.
COS, which we like to think of as H&M’s older sister is classic and classy, it features lots of natural fibers in grey, navy, cream and black. Easy sweaters with silk panels, beaded collars you can attach to a simple top or T-shirt, a gorgeous halter-necked concertina-pleat cocktail dress that could be mistaken for Chloe. Each collection is designed exploring the brands original concept of favoring a timeless style over seasonal fashion trends thus creating garments that live beyond the season.
“At COS, we want to propose a style inspired by architecture, graphics, design and arts,” explains women’s wear design manager Karin Gustaffson. “To play with volume and proportion, rather than follow fashion trends. We have always hoped to create styles that last beyond the season.”
One of our personal favorites is the white mock shirt sold at 200 AED. ‘Designed to be layered under jumpers or tops to give the illusion of a top, it has adjustable straps to hold it in place.’
