Indulge in a Royal Tea Experience in Abu Dhabi

Has it been a while since you planned an outing with friends for catching up while sipping some excellent tea and homemade scones? Here it is! To celebrate the Queen of England’s birthday, Leopold’s of London proposes us to enjoy a quintessential British experience at their outlets.

Priced at 125 AED for two people, diners can enjoy the Royal Tea selected for the occasion that comes along with freshly baked scones served with traditional cream and jam.

As we are huge fans of this homegrown brand in the UAE and fancy the urban decor, especially the terrace in Nation Towers Galleria with the hanging pots on the ceiling, we couldn’t resist tasting this limited edition that is valid daily from 1pm to 7pm until the 30th of April 2015.

After focusing on their lunch option and their extended choice of coffees during our visit to the first venue (article here) , we wanted to explore the tea house that is said to be a must try with more than 200 tea varieties.

Well this trip to the Corniche outlet is absolutely worth it. Upon our arrival, we chose a table facing the sea.

After ordering the limited Royal Afternoon Tea edition, we were brought a tea tray for each and the in-house Tea Doctor came to the table to give us more insight about the Queen’s Royal tea chosen for the occasion.

Hand blended with Broken Assam leaves in Leopold’s Tea Library, it is sourced from the finest Kenyan leaf tea. The blend combines the softness of Kenya’s Milima Estate Black tea and the malty character of Assam tea.

Then the Tea Doctor suggested to bring us either hot or cold tea and honey to best enjoy our Royal tea and explained how to use our individual tea timer with this blend.

Freshly baked and directly coming from the oven, the four homemade scones were just divine and served with a few fresh berries aside, a pot of cream and some raspberry jam.

We really enjoyed the atmosphere with a lot of people around, chatting and enjoying their afternoon in a cozy surrounding.

A place we will definitely head back to in the future.

This Afternoon Tea is also served in Leopold’s of London located at Boutik Mall in Al Reem Island and at The Galleria in Al Maryah Island.
