Your essential in flight beauty tips guide for long-haul journeys.
Let’s face it, when we get off a plane we don’t exactly look our best. In fact often times our skin feels dry and our feet are too swollen to wear the boots we wore when boarding the flight. So, how is it that we see photos of some of our favourite celebrities looking their absolute best after those cross Atlantic journeys? Well, here are our tips for the beauty products and secrets that can help you also look hydrated, cleansed, well-rested and refreshed.
HYDRATE
Cabin air can really create havoc on the skin. For those of us who are prone to breakouts and have uber-sensitive skin we dread long journeys on the plane.
In order to make sure the skin stays plumped and hydrated make sure you get a tub of Lip and Skin Balm by RMS beauty (91.75 AED). The perfect and most affordable companion when flying, lather it on your hands, lips and even dry ankles to keep the skin from getting flakey.
CLEANSE
If you have boarded the plane with makeup, then its essential that you wipe it off once the plane takes off. Foundation can really clog the pores and wreck the skin because of the recycled air on the plane.
Our favourite product is Cellularose Micellar Water Cleanser from By Terry (201.85 AED). Micellar Water, the holy grail when it comes to drawing impurities from the face. Try out this gentle cleanser that will cleanse without stripping off the moisture from your face.
SLEEP
One of the best ways to ensure you look well-rested when you land is of course getting some solid hours of sleep on the plane. Although the seats can get a bit cramped, we recommend getting yourself an Eye mask and Neck cushion by Flight 001 (129 AED) to get you more comfortable and help you fall asleep.
Another handy item to always have are hair ties by Kitsch (91.75 AED). These trendy bands are designed to be kind to the hair and not create any ugly bumps when you take them off. Fun and trendy they can also be worn on the wrist, so there is little chance of misplacing them.
REPAIR
Make sure the only bags you leave the plane with are those you’re carrying. This Multi-Masking Kit by Skin Iceland (100 AED) is the ultimate masking kit for the face and eyes that is super effective. The pre-soaked patches work to visibly reduce shadows, bags, sagging and signs of fatigue, leaving the skin toned, repaired and lifted.
REFRESH
We are huge fans of the Queen of Hungary Mist by Omorovicza (75.41 AED). This travel size version is ideal for keeping the skin refreshed during a flight. Made with Hungary’s mineral-rich thermal waters it helps to maintain the moisture levels and prevent the skin from drying out.
