Thumbs up for the new menu 55&5th Grill just unveiled
If you are not yet familiar with 55&5th Grill, it is a classy grill and lounge located inside the St Regis Hotel on Saadiyat Island. Open for more than three years, this spot has its regulars who are always back because of the excellent service, top cava and of course delicious grill options.
This upscale New York style decor will impress at first sight with its private booths, high ceilings, oversized tables and leather sofa chairs.
The new Chef has come up with an exciting new menu including posh starters that are perfect to share at the bar for a casual night. Invited to experience some of the new delicacies featured in the menu that will be launched in November 2015, we must say we were impressed!
During our tasting evening, we especially liked the original Crudo di Wagyu, a wagyu striploin that comes with parmesan and marinated sardine paste.
For our starters, we adored the Capelletti, prepared with Fontina cheese, truffle butter sauce and a chesnut puree that all paired perfectly together.
The Foie Gras au Torchon looked like a miniature artwork, served with an endive marmelade, topped with raw endive, forest fruit and peppery manuka honey gastrique.
We probably are too classic, but our personal favorite was by far the sterling Angus tenderloin -a real treat- cooked medium rare, the meat simply melted in the mouth. This main is best enjoyed with the Spinach Rockefeller and some fries topped with Espelette pepper.
For dessert we were truly impressed by the Valrhona Caraibe Chocolate Vortex that looked and tasted amazing.
The outdoor terrace is always popular once the weather starts cooling down so make sure you book your table in advance to avoid any disappointment!
The refined dishes, professionalism of the whole team, creative pairing of food and drink and the reasonable pricing for these gourmet menu items-it is a culinary delight.
