Asia De Cuba: A must-try festive latino experience on the Corniche for foodies

Wow, we can’t wait to share our latest find in the Abu Dhabi gourmet food directory. This new hotspot meets all the requirements needed for a fun day out-from the beachfront location, innovative “world” cuisine, festive atmosphere and the vibrant outdoor decor, they have it all covered.

Here is a breakdown of each so you can understand exactly why we adore this place.

Beachfront location
Located on the beachfront of the Corniche, Asia De Cuba is facing the Corniche beach and Marina Mall with Nation Towers and St Regis Hotel Corniche at its back. Accessible on foot from the Corniche walk, there’s also a convenient valet-parking in front of St Regis Hotel, with a 5 star pedestrian tunnel under Corniche road. Worth the walk!

The Chino-Latino concept
For the foodies who enjoy nothing more than discovering new tastes and flavors, this is a spot you should add to your must-visit list of 2015.

We started our meal by sharing finger food from the extensive small plates menu. We loved the Shrimp Churros (75 AED). A salted version of the famous Spanish food, this was made with with sesame, cooked shrimp bites, spring onion and ginger and was served with a red Thai curry sauce. Their Goat Cheese Fritters (45 AED) had a rich and intense taste and was served with a refreshing mango and cucumber relish in a jalapeno aioli.

For our main, we opted for the appealing Seven Spice Roasted Chicken (90 AED). Juicy and soft with an almost caramalized and flavorful crust, the chicken came with an interesting mix of Spanish melted Manchego with different veggies.

We loved the braised lamb that came along with a tasty Chino-Latino fried rice, thin sprouts, edamame beans and fried eggs.

Our meal ended on a high-note with a light and tasty coconut and lemongrass flan.

 

Festive atmosphere in a soothing decor
Apart from the colorful and beautiful bar on the beach and the cuban tunes, we couldn’t get enough of the outdoor terrace that offers different options. You can either go classic and enjoy your dinner on a table, or relax in a cabana or be seated on the communal table, if you are in a large group. There is an extensive bites menu and drinks menu.

After tasting Mariposa Rosa (35 AED), a drink with hibiscus, raspberry and watermelon, we know we will be back to watch the sunset and enjoy the cuban ambiance and try the other signature mocktails and classic cocktails that have an Asian fusion style.

Asia de Cuba is open daily for lunch from noon to 3pm, they only serve bites in the afternoon, and then open for dinner till 12pm and drinks until 2am.
