BU! launched a family-friendly Friday brunch

Looking for a new brunch to try with family friendly vibes? Friday Family Fiesta Brunch has it all at BU! located at the Mall World Trade Center Abu Dhabi.

After the launch of their Friday brunch before summer, BU! came up with a nice concept so that the little ones can make the most of their brunch experience too.

A kids set menu designed by the youngest food critics

While the adults enjoy a large set menu with no less than 15 different dishes coming to the table, the kids also have their own set menu to enjoy. This kids menu was actually designed by kids who were on board as ” menu consultants” and they helped Chef Humberto come up with a tantalizing set menu fitting the little ones’s taste.

The formula actually works as kids get to try a lot of different dishes including Chicken Quesadillas, Pasta Pomodoro, Fish Sticks-there is also a strong focus on the presentation. What we liked is the little ones looked proud to get to try their own set menu with fancy dishes to experience. The clever thing is they usually disappeared in between the courses to visit the kids area as there were different activities to try – face painting, movies to watch, drawing tables, toys and this gave some quiet time to parents to enjoy their brunch.

With a live band on board and a singer from South America playing eclectic beats, the atmosphere was definitively lively.

The set menu for the big ones

If you haven’t visited BU! yet, this brunch will give you a great overview of the Pan Latin cuisine they propose.

All the dishes are designed to be shared for two people and you get to try a lot of different specialties from Peru, Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil and more.

After tasting their homemade guacamole as a starter, eight different cold and warm starters come and fill the table including ceviche, salads, empanadas and tacos.

Our favorite were the Robalo ceviche prepared with seabass, sweet potato and Cancha – puffy and toasted corn nuts which added a crunchy texture. We enjoyed the added kick by the Red Aji from Peru and the Leche de Tigre citrus based marinade that cured the seafood in a ceviche and was refreshing.

The Antun Picante is a must try. Slightly more spicy, the marinated raw tuna is topped with sesame seeds and garlic and spread over a plantain chip. We loved that although the plantain was almost caramelized but still soft in texture.

Leave room for the mains as there are three different meat dishes to taste prepared with duck, beef stirloin and mixed seafood accompanied by a Potato gratin and Josper mixed vegetables, both delicious.

We still adored the Peruvian Chupe that we had tried before – mixed seafood prepared with onion, cream, chili – that comes in a pot and is topped with a large parmesan crust. The Bun de Pato was also very nice with juicy and flavorful duck with a sweet honey taste served with jalapeño inside a white soft bun.

If you have a sweet tooth, make sure to leave room for the last round as an exciting and colorful dessert tasting platter comes to the table filled with many different South-American sweets to enjoy.

Verdict?

A brunch definitely worth visiting in one of the trendiest spots that opened in the Capital this year fairly priced starting from 250 AED with soft drinks. As the restaurant is huge, it is a spot you can both enjoy booking for a table for a Friday fancy going out with kids or coming along with plenty of friends.

Brunch starts at 12:30pm and runs until 4pm. BU! is located on the 4th floor of The Hub at The Mall World Trade Centre, Abu Dhabi.
