Every single winter, we like nothing more than hunting all the latest cafes around the city and every single year, we feel the city of Abu Dhabi is buzzing given all the openings.
We have highlighted some of our favorites we have visited so far and the new ones that are still on must-visit list!
And don’t worry, we will keep adding more throughout 2020 as we have a long waiting list of places we spotted and hope to stop by soon.
AT MINA ZAYED

After discovering their first branch in Abu Dhabi a few years ago, we stumbled upon this new gorgeous looking cafe located inside the buzzing Mina Cruise Terminal Building. This new café, located on the first floor, offers a sleek design.

Easy to find, this café is located right beside D10 inside Mina Cruise Terminal.
Marmelleta Bakery
This is the first time we have heard about this type of pop-up concept: this takeaway place- hidden at the very end of Mina Port Zayed – is opened only once a week, every Thursday night from 6.30 pm til’ they are out of dough!
Colorful and cozy terrace furnished with our beloved Fermob outdoor furniture, great flavored focaccia or pizza al taglio (sold per slice). And if you love Italian sweet delicacies, you can even pre-order cookies for takeaway.

Fae Café
Pecan Cruffin at Fae Cafe Abu Dhabi
Located inside the recently opened Youth x Hub located along the Corniche and facing the dhows close to Mina Fish Market, you will find another stunning new café called FAE Cafe, that serves not only specialty coffees but also very cute viennoiseries. A cool spot to grab lunch as they are open all day long and seem to have pretty cool options to pick. We enjoyed our very first pecan cruffin (croissant and muffin hybrid) there.

Wild & The Moon
This vegan precursor concept in Dubai finally made its way to Abu Dhabi. It is located inside one of the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundations buildings. Offering a large range of cold-pressed juices, non-dairy milks, they also propose vegan recipes worth trying. And look at that decor…
We keep retuning to this cafe either for a non-dairy flavored latte (the turmeric latte is our firm favorite) or healthy lunch (check our review here) and whenever we need to refill our shelves with superfoods and infusion tea.
Mirzam Chocolate cafe
You may have already tasted the UAE made chocolates from Mirzam. We recently found out that we didn’t have to order the chocolates online anymore as Mirzam had opened their first cafe in Abu Dhabi, inside the Al Qasr and Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation urban block, facing the peaceful water. Just walk around the water and you’ll find the cafe, with its sleek interior and shaded terrace. Skip the coffee and try their hot chocolate!

% ARABICA at Marsa Al Bateen
We are huge fans of this specialty coffee shop from Kyoto that opened their first outlet close to ADIA Building, near Corniche a few years ago now. Their second Abu Dhabi based café is ideal to visit, especially during the weekends, as it is located at Marsa Al Bateen.
We are fans of the cafe decor and like the inside/outside vibes with white and light wooden touches here and there. Take a seat outside, facing the Al Bateen marina and just enjoy your specialty coffee .. with something sweet to pair with. We cannot help ourselves as their bakery counter is usually very tempting.

DRVN cafe
This cafe had us slightly intimidated but is one to visit especially if your hubby or kids are into exclusive vintage cars. Why? The cafe decor is like an exhibition because of the large glass vitrines showcasing rare cars.
DRVN proposes artisan-in-house roasted coffee along with authentic Neapolitan pizza. Check their Instagram account and you’ll immediately get understand the vibe.

Moni’s Cafe in the city
After a successful opening at Al Bandar, Moni’s Cafe opened their second branch downtown in Abu Dhabi, at the bottom of the Executive Suites hotel (facing Mamoura Building). We are just addicted to some of their fairly priced healthy options, especially the avocado toast prepared with homemade carrot and quinoa bread , scones coming with homemade raspberry jam and coconut yogurt, or acai bowl.

They also serve a healthy soup of the day and have delicious healthy lunch options to grab for take-away.
Believe us, once you have experienced their food selection, you will return to this cafe.
The Echo Cafe
Visiting this playful hidden gem made our day. The Echo Machine is a haven for Instagram addicts as the cafe has many decor details ideal for cool shots. From floor to ceiling, colors are kinda pastels with pale pink, yellow and blue shades. Furniture is definitely cozy, we loved the ceramic cups used to serve the coffee. Even the entrance of the cafe is fun, with the minimalist facade (pastel pink door, with the cafe logo and a cactus beside) and the sliding door… a must-do this year.
