It is a bold statement but our first business lunch of the year was definitely a winner!
In case you are not yet familiar with Roberto’s – located at the ground floor inside The Galleria mall at Al Maryah Island -this Italian restaurant proposes a signature culinary experience under the overall direction of Chief Culinary Advisor, 2* Michelin chef Enrico Bartolini.
Next time you need to plan lunch downtown with friends, head over to Roberto’s and experience their business lunch menu. You’ll enjoy the fantastic experience that is well priced. The two-course menu comes at 85AED inclusive of all fees (except 5% VAT) while the three-course menu is priced at 119AED (+5% VAT).
Although the dishes change every week guests will still be offered the same amount of dishes beginning with four options of starters, soup, salad, and options of fish, meat and pasta for the main course.
The week we visited, we had a hard time picking our antipasti and secondi as there were too many appealing dishes to choose from.
Amuse Bouche first…
First things first, our waiter brought us a basket filled with warmly baked Italian breads – Foccacia, crispy crackers, sourdough and white breads along with some grissino to enjoy with three different homemade dips: tomato with basil, truffle cream and a yellow bell pepper with tuna dip. We had to refrain ourselves from accepting a second bread basket and dips as they were very good!
The Antipasti
For our starters, we opted for bresaola. The generous portion was served with rocket and a refreshing lemon dressing and the starter was topped with Parmigiano. Our guest opted for the cured marinated salmon that was topped with red radish and bay leaf mayo. This sophisticated and Instagrammable starter was just melting in our mouths.
Secondi
Our order of Seppia was a minimalist and sophisticated dish that we just adored. The cuttlefish was perfectly cooked and was colored in fuschia because of the beetroot. It was served with crunchy broccoli and served over black ink squid and aioli sauce. It also looked very artistic.
Our partner decided to opt for one of Roberto’s signature dishes in Italy called Ribollita. This traditional Tuscany dish was brought to our table inside a cooking stew and our waiter filled the plate at our table. This hearty potage will definitely reinvigorate your body at winter time. The filling vegetarian option is prepared with a mix of savoy -Milanese cabbage – and black cabbage, cannellini beans and bread.
Ending on a sweet note
If you want dessert, the three-course business lunch includes two options and we decided to share one for two. The Tortino Al Cioccolato was a pure delight. Once we cut through the hazelnut mousse layer, we discovered the dark chocolate heart that was almost unsweetened. The dessert comes with coffee ice cream.
Why we will be back for more
The attentive service, the quality of the food and the menu filled with hearty traditional Italian dishes is the reason why we will be returning soon for more.
There is such a variety that you will undoubtedly find dishes to fit your mood and taste. Congratulations to the team for coming up with such a brilliant and affordable business lunch menu!
