A UK-based burger spot now makes its debut in Abu Dhabi
Passing by Abu Dhabi mall with the whole family in the coming weeks? Then check the latest burger joint opened during summer 2015.
Located next to the escalators close to The One, the UK chain Gourmet Burger Kitchen also called GBK has picked a great location. We couldn’t help but stop, immediately attracted, not by the food to be fair but by the welcoming decor of the restaurant. Open and airy, far away from the food court, we are big fans of the slogans on the walls and industrial furniture.
It really is the place to go for a pause in Abu Dhabi Mall if you are looking for a casual and quiet meal with kids.
What about the food? Well, there is obviously a large selection of burgers – almost 30 including veggie options and a bunless burger-with several innovative ingredients and taste combinations such as salmon, falafel, pineapple with fried eggs and beetroot or gorgonzola with smoked beef aioli. We tried the avocado and beef bacon, Caesar Chicken and the four cheese.
Our orders arrived quickly and the food was fresh and tasty, especially the Caesar Chicken. The kids menu comes with very thin fries and is served in a nice wire crockery. The buns were soft, the meat fresh and juicy.
Overall, it was a nice first experience and a good pick if the kids are craving burgers.
