What you can expect from an Iftar or Suhoor at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr in 2016

What about experiencing a 5 star Iftar or Suhoor in Abu Dhabi while looking over at Sheikh Zayed Mosque? Actually, Fairmont Bab Al Bahr offers guests a chance to break their fast during the Holy Month in the air-conditionned Iftar tent adjacent to the CuiScene restaurant or at the Andalus Suhoor tent.

More than a hundred recipes to discover at the Iftar at Cuiscene by Fairmont Bab Al Bahr

We were lucky to get a sneak peak of more than a hundred dishes the Chefs have come up with at CuiScene, proposing a culinary journey and many different specialities to discover.

We liked the warm ambience with lanterns and dried fruits on the tables, the subdued lighting and the busy and welcoming ballet of waiters regularly checking each table so that guests have the very best experience.

Whatever your regime is, you will definitely enjoy visiting the buffet filled with many live stations and a wide palette of cuisine style. From Arabic style salads and hot and cold mezze, to Japanese sushi and maki, seafood section filled with mussels, lobster or crab legs, Indian recipes and live meat station, the options seem endless. If you are more into light bites, there is also a healthy corner with appetizing fresh salads, such as the kale and date salad or the roasted carrots.

We couldn’t help but stop and grab a warm shawarma freshly wrapped at the live station. One of the highlights of this Iftar was the traditional Ouzi accompanied with Oriental rice. An Emirati dish not to be missed as the lamb was soft and melted in the mouth.

Keep room for desserts as the back of the restaurant is dedicated to sweet tooth lovers with plenty of individual colorful desserts and Arabic sweets to taste.

This Iftar served daily from sunset until 9pm at CuiScene is priced at 225AED++ including water, juices and soft drinks.

Suhoor at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr ?

After a successful launch of a contemporary Suhoor tent last year, Fairmont Bab Al Bahr does it bigger and better in 2016.

With open views on the Maqtaa creek and Sheikh Zayed Mosque, this tent is an ideal spot for a relaxing Suhoor in a contemporary setting yet with influences from Andalusia with arches and geometric patterns. Light white and beige walls and sofas pair well with light green and turquoise hints of colors here and there.

There is also a specially built water fountain inside the Al Andalus tent that adds some charm to this spot located close to the conference rooms this year. The long tunnel entrance connecting the hotel and the tent will make you feel like a VIP entering a sophisticated room.

The space is that huge that it has been divided to accommodate VIP Majlis areas with flat screen TVs, a private area for ladies only, an exclusive Majlis lounge and majlis dining areas.

You can indulge in a la carte items to order from their Suhoor menu. There is a minimum spend of 150AED++ per person that can be spent on food, beverages and shishas.
The Suhoor tent is open daily during the Holy Month from 10 pm until 3pm on weekdays and until 3.30am on weekends.
