The new place to be for a fancy dinner in Abu Dhabi

We were lucky to meet the BU TRINITY team and experience the spot one day before the soft opening and all we can say is that it is a wonderful new addition to the Abu Dhabi foodie scene. Why we loved it so much?

The incredible decor

The spot looks amazing. Imagine a 400 seating area divided in a lot of different corners such as the dining corner, bar, outdoor licensed terrace, and lounge area.

From Singer sewing machines transformed into dining tables, swinging tables outdoors, communal tables, there is a different atmosphere in every corner with a common factor; wherever you look, you just want to sit and unwind. A very sleek decor with waxed concrete on the floor, huge modern signs here and there on the walls, sophisticated crystal looking glasses, stone plates from Peru, there is a lot to discover and enjoy. The in-house Peruvian DJ and the welcoming and knowledgeable staff add to a relaxing and trendy ambience.

The Modern Pan Latin cuisine and sharing style concept

Peruvian cuisine has hit Dubai recently and we were anxiously waiting for it to land in Abu Dhabi. It was worth the wait as BU invites us to a culinary journey through Latin America – Chilean, Peruvian, Mexican, Argentinian, Bralizian and Colombian cuisines. Humberto is the chef on board hails from Mexico, he has worked in different countries and his food reflects his world cuisine influences.

With a hundred different dishes on the menu, there is something for everyone’s taste and every occasion: aperitif with snack food to share, high-end dinner, ceviche, seafood, great meat options with Latin influences. All portions are designed to allow visitors to share and choose multiple items. Each dish comes to the table as soon as they it is ready which adds to the interactive experience.

Invited to discover the menu, we are in awe with all the Raw Bar specialties, with a lot of ceviche to choose from and share, including seabass, octopus, salmon or shrimps. Our preferred pick was the Aguachile ceviche prepared with shrimp, green tomato, jalapeno, red onion and tortilla oil.

If you wish a bit of drama, go for the Consome Aleta Amarilla, a yellow tail consomme with vegetables-we don’t want to say more and spoil the surprise.

Among the Antojos, we adored the Res Tataki: wagyu beef tataki rolled with Cotija cheese, rocket leaves, ginger, arbol chili oil and huancaina sauce.

If you are looking for a filling pot, the Chupe was probably our favourite-mixed seafood with onion, cream, chili with parmesan crust on top that you cut in pieces so that it melts in the pot. Just fab!

If you are into seafood, the Bacalao shouldn’t be missed; the black cod was very soft and served with Ajillo mayonnaise, coconut and lemongrass cream with cherry tomatoes.

The carnivores will be delighted as there are tantalizing options such as rack of lamb, on the bone rib steak or striploin and chefs on board are masters of the technique.

To be honest, we didn’t have much room left for dessert and the selection we got to sample was also impressive with desserts with a Latin twist. The chocolate cake accompanied with mango will certainly be a hit and we also liked the churros filled with lemon cream and a hibiscus syrup on the side.

We have no doubt this new venue in town will be a hit and become a top food and entertaining destination in Abu Dhabi.

Bu Abu Dhabi opening hours are from 12pm to 3pm for lunch; and from 6pm to 2am every evening on weekdays. BU! is open from 12pm to 3am on weekends.
