A fancy night out in Abu Dhabi to catch up after the summer break

Back in Abu Dhabi after summer and wishing to celebrate with a romantic dinner or catch-up with friends in a fancy setting?

Then we have you covered with the Wednesday offer we have just experienced at KOI, the contemporary dining hotspot located at The Collection in Saadiyat island.

Every Wednesday, KOI Abu Dhabi proposes a three course a la carte menu that features their very best signature dishes for 225 AED per person or 295 AED with free flowing grape.

Almost two years have flown since we first featured KOI (read more here) at their opening and it still has that wow factor.

The menu is definitely not cheap but it’s worth it as you are given a choice from their signature dishes.  As there are 4 starters and 4 main courses to choose from, the ideal way to enjoy the promotion is to grab friends and share the dishes to maximise your experience.

After enjoying our salted Edamame and a bespoke amuse-bouche – fish cake served with grapefruit – we were ready to try our starters.  It was our first time ordering the Crispy Rice that comes topped with a Spicy Tuna Tartare prepared with Sriracha and Shichimi spices for the connoisseurs.

The Hamichi Fusion which is a classic KOI signature dish is still excellent.  The raw yellowtail sashimi was topped with jalapēno slices and grated celery drizzled with some Soy Yuzu sauce that gives a refreshing taste. The Soy sauce was combined with some truffle scent which matched perfectly.

For the main course, we opted for the Sautéed Tiger Prawns prepared with a sweet and spicy glaze. This is our personal favourite and we adore the glaze mix of chive, coriander, sweet soya, sriracha spice, sake and butter.

The peppercorn beef filet mignon was served with Shishito mashed potatoes and just melted in the mouth.

For the dessert, we got a assortment of Mochi with 4 different flavors and it was our first time tasting the Sakura flavour that is derived from the famous Japanese cherry blossom.
