The garden-feel of the decor, the freshness of the recipes and collection of desserts had us hooked

L’ETO CAFFE located at the Galleria in Al Maryah Island is our latest find that has totally impressed us.

Located on the lower floor, close to Bentley Kitchen, this new café has that quintessential feel-good vibe. How? The immaculate bright white walls, the white marble tables, the splash of colors of the gorgeous oversized vases with flowers and the contemporary wall decor-all draw you in.

The linen and wooden armchairs, the vintage plant wall decor and large plant pots add more personality to the decor and give it that cozy vibe.

The café is quite big actually and has a glamorous corner at the back, ideal to organize a large gathering. It has a more intimate feel thanks to the dark pink velvet sofas and shelves filled with books and trinkets.

The central glass counter where salads and savory mains are displayed on one side while a fantastic collection of appetizing desserts await us on the other side.

Invited to review this new café, we were keen to try the salads from the counter-as they were very tempting.

1 main + 2 salads – 95AED
1 main + 3 salads – 105 AED
3 salads – 85 AED
4 salads – 95 AED

The mains at the counter includes both vegetarian and meat dishes which will satisfy all tastebuds.

We personally went for the mix combining a main and two salads. The Pomegranate Aubergine yogurt was our absolute favorite as the eggplant melted in the mouth, topped with a refreshing greek style yogurt. While the pomegranate and the pumpkin seeds added some crunch on the palate, we also liked the variety of herbs and spices that gave a summery finish to this starter.

The bulgur accompanied with honey roasted pumpkin and crispy kale was quite filling and paired well with tiny pieces of feta cheese.

For the main, we long hesitated between the Adzuki burger and the homemade mozzarella and tomato tart which was a nice pick in the end.

As we were waiting for the dumplings ordered by our partner, the restaurant team brought us a burrata salad. It is a starter we would also definitely recommend as the burrata was very fresh and creamy, the balsamic seasoning on the salty cherry tomatoes added a nice sweet kick to the starter and paired very well the olives. The textures and flavors blended well together.

The wait was worth it and we devoured the flavorful steamed beef and lamb dumplings in no time. It was our first time enjoying them with sour cream and herb pesto. This unique combination was very appealing.

The desserts

Though we were almost full, the dessert selection was too tempting to be skipped. We noticed guests had a hard time picking their dessert and visited the counter a few times before making their final choice. From tiramisu, violet macaron cake, caramel millefeuille, black forest meringue, dulce nougat cake, chocolate strawberry tart, fig and cardamon tart, the list is endless as there are probably more than thirty different desserts on display, all priced between 35 and less than 50AED. It may look pricey at a first glance but they are very generous and worth every single bite!

Our final choice was the blueberry and lime cheesecake and the papaya and coconut layered cake that was not only a pleasure in terms of taste but also for the eyes.

This was our first and certainly not the last visit. Our waiter also told us, if need be to convince us to come back, that the salad and main selection at the counter are changing every week. Lastly, we also noticed the menu includes an all-day breakfast section.

There are two L’ETO cafes in Abu Dhabi, one inside Yas mall – located where Angelina used to be – beside Ladurée and this new café at The Galleria. For our next visit, we’ll most probably stick to this café at the Galleria to again enjoy the charming setting and daily counter delicacies.
