The Origins Brunch with Pool Access

Back from the summer holidays, we jumped straight into the weekend brunch season by attending the relaunch of The Friday Brunch at Yas Viceroy.

For those of you who haven’t visited it yet, the brunch is located at ORIGINS, an all-day dining restaurant. We have always been fans of their decor that highlights the white and futuristic structure with subtle touches of colors (photo below).

With floor to ceiling windows, tables both overlooking the Formula 1 circuit and the Yas Marina (what more could we want?!). Some brunch-goers were even brave enough to overcome the heat and opted for an outdoor table by the terrace to best enjoy the views.

What’s best about this new brunch is that the gourmet Friday party is followed by an afternoon at the pool.

Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with colorful mocktails and cocktails-we noticed various live drink stations around  the restaurant.

The starters display is impressive with items that look very summery, colorful and appetizing such as the stuffed smoked salmon with avocado and mango. We also spent quite some time sampling the seafood corner, especially the poached lobster, king’s crab legs and more… If you are into Hawaiian Poke, let them prepare a bespoke poke bowl for you. All the ingredients (tuna, octopus, snapper or salmon… ) are on display and you can build your own version. Bon appetit!

Origins bring to this Friday Brunch a taste of the various restaurants (Kazu, Amici, Angar… ) at the hotel:
– signature pasta dishes prepared on demand at the Amici Italian live station such as eggplant tortellini, saffron tagliatelle, beef cheek ravioli or lemon tagliolini,
– classic Indian dishes and curries at the Angar corner,
– sushi, sashimi and the best makis by the Kazu Japanese team

There also are some highlights such as the seafood Thermidor or the Beef Wellington that shouldn’t be missed.

We also appreciated the staff coming to the tables with hors d’œuvre including Korean braised beef cheeks, mug chocolate cakes with raspberries and more.

Sweet lovers can rejoice as the desserts have their own room at this brunch, located in the library. The dessert choice seems endless with again a lot of individual tarts, eclairs, choux or cakes to taste. You can also indulge in homemade ice creams and sorbets: the apricot and raspberry sorbets were very refreshing in this heat.

There is cheese sourced from all over Europe and pairs very well with the exotic breads including Portuguese water bread (one of our favorite), cornbread, squid ink bread or focaccia to name a few…

Once the brunch is over (it ends at 4pm), just stop by the entrance to get your pool pass that includes one beverage to sip by the pool between 4 and 7pm.

The pool is located on the seventh floor and is an adult-only Longitude pool and bar.

After Brunch vibes at Yas Viceroy Hotel

Although the outdoor temperatures are still quite warm, we didn’t suffer from the heat and quite enjoyed the light breeze.

Guests can also spend time at the pool on the oversized inflatable flamingos and swans, a great way to relax on a Friday afternoon.

We definitely enjoyed our day out!
