We can never resist a menu that includes Couscous and Tagine – so new eatery Tagine Morocco was top of our list to visit. The cosy and quaint restaurant, which only has a few tables, serves authentic Moroccan cuisine and is decorated in an authentic way with Moroccan seating and wall decorations. It’s buzzing at lunchtime – we always think it’s a good sign to see a mix of locals and expats.
We tried the Chicken Lemon Tagine (37 AED); moist and tender chicken, served with olives and just the right hint of lemon and onion gravy. The dish was a perfect blend of flavours – just a little more gravy could improve it.
The Royal Couscous (45 AED) came with a mixture of beef and chicken, served on top of a bed of couscous. The range of seasonal vegetables, including carrots and zucchini, were cooked with the rest of the dish to make it hearty and wholesome.
Overall this eatery serves Moroccan food at very affordable prices (under 100 AED for two), with a small, intimiate interior and option for home delivery. We recommend a visit.
