Handy information if you are in charge of filling the fridge and pantry…

If you are fed up of browsing the same shelves, same brands and products at your usualsupermarket, we have good news to share. Recently we have come across a couple of new places around the city that will make your grocery and deli shopping more exciting.

WHEATFIELDS

Wheatfields located at Al Rayanna Complex in Khalifa City A – close to Al Forsan – is still on top of the list. Offering the most variety, there is an appealing deli counter, cafe within the supermarket, bakery and plenty of brands that are usually not available in most supermarkets of the city.

YUM YOUR URBAN MARKET

We noticed that YUM – Your Urban Market is making its debut in the city (part of the Souq Planet group) and each time we have stopped there, we had fun picking up a lot of trendy grocery brands we had never heard of before.

For now there are 2 locations for this supermarket: at Al Bateen Marina, beside The Abu Dhabi Edition Hotel, and at Khalifa Park area, close to Brighton College and just beside the new cafe called Foodshed UAE.

For those who eat regularly at their desk, or get takeout, this supermarket may come in handy. If you are on the lookout freshly made healthy dishes at lunchtime YUM market is the place to go. They carry an interesting selection including Japanese starters and mains prepared by Sushi Central, gluten-free and healthy options by Moni’s Healthy Choice, salads and sandwiches by Olio’s and healthy options by Slim’n Lite.

The store also carries a cool selection of juices – such as TeaTox Vit Hit prepared with green tea, orange and mandarin – plenty of healthy snacks such as cruncha ma.me (vegan edamame snacks with different flavours), various protein balls by Health Lab, organic chocolate from OrganiK Market, a Spanish label and many more. We also grabbed ready-made pulses and rice from Tilda, veggie burgers at the fresh corner.

Lastly, they also have a Starbucks corner which makes it very convenient to get your coffee fix anytime as the store opens at 6 am sharp and closes at 12 am daily!

YUM Your Urban Market – open daily from 6am until 12 am

  • Marina Al Bateen – next to The Abu Dhabi Edition Hotel
  • Khalifa Park neighborhood – Blooms Gardens – next to Foodshed Café
