Everything you need to know about the new concept Urban RetrEAT

We are familiar with the concept of a business incubator but what comes next has no equivalent yet in Abu Dhabi and seems promising and appealing to food lovers like us. The idea is all about bringing foodpreneurs together, under a unique roof to create the very first food incubator in Abu Dhabi.

It opened just in time for summer 2018 – mid June 2018 -, we cannot wait to visit this new concept under one roof called Urban RetrEAT at Yas Mall Abu Dhabi.

How does it work?

Twelve rotating food vendors come and occupy a spot at a unique new venue called Urban RetrEAT and these food vendors will rotate every three months for guests to discover the buzzing local food scene.

For the first round, customers will step into an experience that will take them from the streets of Venezuela to a plaza in Italy, to a back alley in Dubai and to a village in Lebanon.

The first twelve food vendors include Firefly Burger, Bubble Waffles by Sukkar Dose, Roll-Ups by Sukkar Dose, Off The Hook, Pidzza, Casa Latina, Tawa Bakery, Hue Artisan Pasta, Chez Moe Café, Fatteh O Salata, Mr. Brisket, and Casa De Churros.

From briskets and burgers to bubble waffles, sliders and salads to sugar laden deserts and even gluten-free goodies, there’s something for everyone to choose from. There are even vegan options, including vegan pasta, salads and arepas.

The venue is also hosting local talents such as musicians and artists, offering them a platform to showcase their work and perform for customers within UrbanRetrEATs. Every weekend a different musician will take the stage, keeping guests entertained as well as fed.

Who is behind this concept?

Urban RetrEAT is founded by husband and wife foodpreneurs, Amjad and Dana Alsharif, two of Dubai’s original home-grown food truck vendors. Their aim is to create the largest platform to support home-grown talent in expanding their business and for Urban RetrEATs, creating and setting trends in the Middle East food scene.

Located on the ground floor of Yas Mall, opposite Ferrari world, Urban retrEATs is now open for business from 10am to 10pm Sunday – Thursday and 10am to 12pm Friday and Saturday.
