Gather friends and family for Christmas Carols in Abu Dhabi in the desert on Friday 11th December, 2015.

Celebrate Christmas the Abu Dhabi way by gathering in the desert for a night of singing Christmas Carols under the stars. It is the perfect event to get all your friends and family together and head out by car (4wheel-drive not required) into the desert at the allotted location.

This community event will start at 4:00 pm and the general format is that people come with their own food, pick a spot and settle in upon arrival. The kids are usually off playing in the biggest sand pit around while folks are chatting, walking or doing whatever.

Once everyone is settled the BBQ will begin. There are communal BBQ fires, where people are welcome to cook their own food. All you need to get are your own glowsticks, bbq food and equipment, warm clothes, torches, tents, marshmallows and other camping gear that you think is necessary.

The carols will start after the dinner and hot chocolate will be served during the night to keep the voices going.

The ideal opportunity to meet people and make new friends, Carols in the Desert will be a fun way to get into the Christmas spirit in Abu Dhabi.

The event is popular and has grown each year – it started with 70 people in 2006 and had about 2000 attending last year.
