Enjoy delicious manoushe in a cosy setting
Centrally located in the city – see map below – the decor includes traditional lanterns painted, rustic chairs painted in light blue, bottles of pickles nicely arranged on shelves and gives an overall homely vibe.
Typically the kind of place you stop by whenever you crave for a bite, anytime of the day.
There are plenty of manakeesh to choose from, with zaatar, akkawi cheese, halloumi cheese, minced meat and pomegranate molasses, kishek (crumbled aged yogurt)… and more. We opted for the zaatar and the halloumi manoushe that can be either served as a flatbread or rolled and cut in pieces. Our small bites arrived nicely presented on wooden tray.
We also shared a toffee banana divine manakeesh filled with crumbled halawi, ripe bananas and a warm toffee syrup that we devored in no time.
There is also an all-day breakfast menu that includes fresh vegetables and freshly baked bread, baked halloumi in a pan, labneh plate , sunrise eggs or the appetizer combo including velvety labneh, homemade hummus and nine savoury tidbites of spinach, cheese and zaatar.
The beverage list includes homemade lemonade, mint rose water , fresh yogurt and more. Our mint rose water and lemonade were much too sweet for our taste.
Definitely a welcoming spot to have in mind whenever you wish to enjoy some Lebanese street style food. We have already planned our next visit to enjoy the breakfast.
