It may look like your standard cakes-and-coffee kiosk in the mall, but this newcomer to Deerfields Mall is full of surprises and the next time you have a sweet craving, head straight for their counter (and thank us later).

The bakery and beverage spot boasts a menu that has completely ditched sugar in favour of the miracle ingredient stevia – nature’s own zero calorie sweetener.

And guess what? Across the board – from brownies and decadent cakes, to frappes, smoothies and ice cream – you can’t tell the difference.

We loaded up on two servings of guilt-free ice cream (sweetened either with agave or dates). The Emirates Dates flavour is un-put-downable with a silky, caramel tinge; and the banana one, whipped with yoghurt, is positively uplifting.

We also insist that chocoholics go for the hot chocolate cake – a favourite of ICONS’ Executive Chef Lara Allegra. It’s as rich as you’ll ever get without any sugary guilt. Or slurp your choc on the go via the mighty Macadamia Brownie Frappe. Yes, we really let ourselves go, but…no regrets!

On the side of hot sips, you can also enjoy an array of rare and organic coffee blends; they recently introduced the “super-rare” Panama Geisha beans to the menu, one of the most expensive coffees in the world. And they’re passionate about healthy teas, too – hot or cold…and always served safely sweet.
