A Seafood brunch overlooking the mangroves in Abu Dhabi

Want to plan a Saturday lunch out with family and friends in a relaxed atmosphere? Look no further than Flooka’s new addition as their Staurday seafood brunch is a must do.

This ‘at the table’ brunch is absolutely worth a try with the buffet focusing on seafood with a regional twist and a masterpiece : the paella station.

After enjoying some olives while browsing the menu, a line of waiters come to your table and in less than two minutes, the table is absolutely fully covered with a dozen of cold and hot mezze to share. Apart from the traditional Lebanese mezze such as the hoummous, moutabal, tabbouleh and Roccah with zaatar salad, you also get to try some warm classics such as the Rabakat cheese or croquettes cheese, Battata Harra or Kraydes osmalie – fried shrimps wrapped in vermicelli rice – .

If you haven’t experienced Flooka before, this Lebanese restaurant’s Dubai branch has been around for years and is famous for their seafood dishes. Their mezze also include fish taouk – King fish marinated in Arabian spices, fish shawarma, raw fish and fish kebbeh, our personal favorite.

After a welcoming pause enjoying a postcard like landscape with the restaurant overlooking the lush mangroves of Abu Dhabi, the waiters brought us a grilled red snapper to share that was very soft and served with homemade sauces based on peppers, tomatoes and sesame cream. You can also request to have it cooked in the traditional tannour oven.

Leave room for the homemade seafood paella that was very juicy, quite spicy and came with calamari, shrimps and mussels.

The brunch ends of a sweet touch with an array of Arabian delicacies to share that perfectly match the homemade signature Flooka ice cream called ‘booza’. Apart the mastic gum that gives a different texture, Flooka adds nuts, biscuits and Turkish delights in their personal Booza version. A must-try!

Apart from the food, there are other added bonuses that make this culinary destination worth visiting. First, the staff is very welcoming and attentive to every detail in order to offer a great experience. It’s also one of the longest brunches hosted in Abu Dhabi starting at 12:30pm until 5pm.

Looking for a quiet atmosphere, then come early with the kids who can enjoy some face painting. The later you come, the busier the brunch is as we feel regulars arrive late to enjoy the live band playing Arabic tunes every Saturday from 3:30-4pm until 7pm.

The Flooka Saturday brunch in Abu Dhabi is priced at 215 AED with soft drinks and 315 AED with house drinks while kids under 12 get a special brunch at 100 AED.
