A spot to visit if you are looking for waterfront views with Italian cuisine
Have you visited Cafe Milano in Abu Dhabi or not yet? Don’t be mistaken, it is not your usual coffee spot serving Italian espresso but a restaurant located inside Four Seasons Abu Dhabi serving contemporary Italian cuisine in a setting reminiscent of a stylish boutique. And this is actually the first Café Milano location to open after the U.S flagship.
With the weather cooling down at nighttime, this spot offers an indoor and outdoor feel as there is no separation between the restaurant and the terrace. It is a charming spot to enjoy the light breeze and open view of the Abu Dhabi skyline and sea.
The restaurant offers various interesting activations throughout the week. On weekdays (except Wednesdays), every evening between 5pm and 7pm, guests can enjoy complimentary bar bites and an Aperitivo when ordering a drink.
If you are more into Pizza, Monday should be your day as cafe Milano proposes a Pizza Night where guests can indulge in four types of unlimited pizzas served to the table along with two drinks. An appealing offer priced at 190 AED per person and 95 AED per children.
We went the old-fashioned way and decided to check out the menu with the help of the restaurant team and Chef Federico who in fact proposed us to taste an upcoming new main on the menu!
While checking the detailed menu, we sipped a refreshing watermelon and ginger mocktail served alongside a mix of olives and an amuse-bouche.
For our starters, we opted for a Sea Bass tartare with cantaloupe melon and avocado. This starter was different from what we expected as the raw fish was actually mixed with the mash avocado. It was a lovely way to start the meal.

The roasted octopus salad served with fresh peaches, green beans and mint was generous enough for two and the combination of the peach with the octopus worked really well (both priced at 70AED).

We then shared calamaranta pasta (large pasta shaped as large calamari rings) served with lobster, a spicy tomato sauce, garlic and parsley. Our images don’t do justice to this wholesome pasta dish that was our favorite of the night. Expect a noticeable kick on the palate thanks to the spicy sauce!
Chef Federico wanted us to experience one of his upcoming additions on the menu which looks very colorful. It looks like pastel aquarelle, the salmon – topped with super thin heirloom tomato slices – was melting in the mouth and the lemon gel balls on the side gave it an overall kick.

Even though we could have easily skipped dessert, we ended up tasting (and finishing) the special dessert of the night, a mix of different miniature Italian classic delicacies, including a pannacotta topped with a blueberry coulis (the coulis was almost unsweetened which was perfect to finish on an almost light touch!), a chocolate truffle, an Italian croquant and some dark chocolate chunks mixed with raisins.

A big thank you to Cafe Milano for welcoming us with open arms and sending us off with full stomachs! Our next visit will surely be dedicated to the Pizza Night with family and friends.
