Found in Abu Dhabi: French pastry at its absolute best

Given that profiteroles are near the top of our favourite dessert list and almost impossible to find in Abu Dhabi, we were curious to try the lobby restaurant named after the sweet delicacy.

Located in the Hyatt Capital Gate, Profiteroles offers a tempting array of sweet profiteroles. Filled with different flavours, the choux pastries don’t only look extremely pretty, but are very tasty and moist. The real uniqueness of the place, however, is that they also offer savoury profiteroles on the menu too – and it is well worth mentioning that they are all priced at an affordable 15 AED each.

We picked the Nicoise and it outdid our expectations in both taste and presentation. It featured a generous serving of tuna meat, mixed with olives, beans, tomatoes and potatoes and a quail egg on top, served between a perfectly baked light and fluffy pastry.

The lobby lounge has a modern, contemporary interior and lots of luxurious, comfortable seating. Although the place is a bit of a trek from town, it’s ideal for catching up with friends while enjoying sweet and savoury delicacies in a 5-star setting.
