A new website proposing healthy and wholesome dishes at lunchtime
Working in an office and often struggling on where to order a healthy lunch in Abu Dhabi? Well, our latest pick is definitely one to share. Basiligo is a brand new website proposing customers to order healthy options at lunchtime in Abu Dhabi.
Their website moto “Fresh, wholesome meals in a click to your desk” reflects well the principles behind their concept as their deliveries are limited to weekdays only, between 11am and 6pm. Here is our feedback about our team’s successful first experience.
The website concept
The food menu comprises of starters, mains and sides and if you have diet requirements, you can browse their menu with filter options including dairy-free, gluten-free, heart healthy, high fibre, low carb, low fat… which is quite convenient.
An ambitious menu with appealing photos left us craving for a couple of their veggie options with Thai, European and Arabic influences.
For every dish on the website, there is also some additional information from details about the dish, to preparation advice about how to enjoy them best, the ingredients list and all detailed nutrition facts (calories, fat, protein….).
Our order
We opted for the Dijon crusted salmon with mustard saffron sauce and herby roasted potatoes (65 AED), a Thai steak bowl with spicy tahini dressing (65 AED) and a pumpkin lasagna with gruyère (65AED).
Once dishes are chosen, you also choose your hourly slot choice between 11am and 6pm. A few minutes after ordering, we got a phone call informing us our awaited slot was already fully booked and we were allotted another one (1 to 2pm).
The food arrived on time (almost 2pm) in a neat packaging. All our dishes were tasty, fresh and looked good also- the price is fair given that the quality is good.
Our recommendations
We hope the menu will also include a sweet section so that we may end our meal at work on a sweet note.
For the rest, no hesitation, go for it!
