French creperie in Abu Dhabi tried and tested

Seeing a Brittany flag at the ground floor of the WTC Souk in Abu Dhabi looks weird at first sight until you check the signage above saying ‘Ty Breizh’ which means ‘The Brittany House’. That’s how we discovered a brand new tiny French Creperie in Abu Dhabi.

To be honest, we don’t remember having proper French crêpes in Abu Dhabi prepared the traditional way with buckwheat and wheat flour crepes.

This new spot is close to Nata Lisboa Cafe – check our map above- and has a simple and light decor with white walls, white wooden chairs and a turquoise touch here and there that gives it a welcoming vibe.

The eatery just opened its doors in June 2016 and it looks like the French community living in Abu Dhabi has already spread the word as we were surrounded by French conversations when we last visited .

As prices were really affordable – between 25 and 35 AED for a crepe- our table of 4 adults went for the sharing style and we ordered 5 different options. The smoked salmon served with cream was simple and devored in no time. We also personally enjoyed the goat cheese topped with honey and served with salad. The ‘Cap Coz” came filled with smoked turkey ham, tomato, cheese, mushroom and an egg on top.

The a la carte crepes menu has quite a variety of items and also offers a vegetarian option prepared with leek fondue and leek cream. Diners can even order their own bespoke savory crepe.

This is a nice place to visit with the little ones. While the pancakes topped with sugar is priced at 10 AED only, there is also one prepared with homemade salted caramel for 18 AED.

We went for the Harlequin crepe and their signature Ty Breizh crepe served with caramelized apples, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream priced at 30AED.

A welcome new addition in the city that will please the whole family without breaking the bank.
