Next time you are looking for a wholesome and affordable meal, give Foodshed a try!
In case you aren’t yet familiar with Foodshed, it is easy to spot in Abu Dhabi as the cafe is located right beside Brighton College. We quite like its rustic and homely vibes, with a large communal table inside the cafe where you can work for a few hours, have breakfast at any time of the day (they have an all-day breakfast menu) and take advantage of their shaded outdoor terrace.
Foodshed recently invited us to come and experience some of their new menu additions and to be honest, we were interested in many of their new options.
We skipped the newbies from their all-day breakfast that now include an acai bowl -which is quite popular- or an avocado toast but will certainly head back soon to give these a try as some new additions from their lunch menu tempted us more.
As their quiche of the day – on display at their counter- looked very appetizing, we gave it a go and ordered the Spinach and Feta filled one. The crust was perfect and the portion generous given the price (20 AED only). Our little one was tempted to try their double cheeseburger (40 AED) that comes without fries.
It allowed us to add some veggies on the side and their roasted cauliflower absolutely didn’t disappoint (45AED). Topped with pomegranate seeds and toasted almonds, it was a winner at the table! Let us warn you that it is a whole cauliflower that comes to the table, so it is large enough to share for 4 people (just ask if you can take the leftover for takeaway).
Their Mac and cheese bites were also an interesting and affordable pick (25 AED) that we finished in no time.
In their desserts section, Foodshed now offers various cheesecakes (blueberry, caramel, or baked). We picked the baked cheesecake (20 AED) and the Chocolate Nemises (25AED) which we really enjoyed; with a chocolate fondant texture, we liked that it was not too sweet. Again, the dessert portions were so generous we couldn’t finish them all.
A cozy cafe located in the Khalifa park area it is a popular spot amongst the Brighton and Khalifa park community and definitely worth the trek if you live in another part of the city.
If just like us, you love the book Table Tales, written by Hanan Sayed Worrell, Foodshed sells this book (320 AED) at the cafe, along with cute tote bags priced at 25 AED.

Lastly, the cafe connoisseurs will be interested to learn that Foodshed in Abu Dhabi is the sister joint from the charming Ratios Coffee located in the center of Sharjah.
More details here:
There is a parking lot with many spots available in front of the cafe and we usually end up swinging by Yum Your Urban Market next door before or after Foodshed, as they have a large variety of vegan or edible products you usually don’t find easily in the city.
THESE NEW SUPERMARKETS WILL MAKE YOUR WEEKLY SHOP MORE INTERESTING
