We have been looking forward to spending evenings outdoors, enjoying the light breeze while sipping a drink with gourmet bites. Next question is “Where to go”?
This season is no exception and welcomes newcomers with the opening of LEXX bar at Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi or VakaVa terrace at Jumeirah at Etihad Towers. But there are some old favorites we still cherish. So, here is our personal round up of spots worth checking out this season.
The Newcomers
VAKAVA
Where: At Jumeirah at Etihad Towers
The Vibes:
This new bar is located above Vakava restaurant and occupies a whole floor. The views and location are stunning as there is a huge open-air terrace overlooking the sea and skyline surrounding this area. The decor is both sophisticated and colorful with plants by the bar adding an exotic holiday touch.
Expect a warm ambiance thanks to the live band playing Latin and Cuban tunes every night. An excellent pick if you are into Pan Latin cuisine and want to snack on Peruvian, Argentinian and Latin American bites. Their beef skewers and ceviches are to die for…

LEXX BAR
Where: Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel & Residences Emirates – Abu Dhabi
The Vibes:
Located inside the Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi that opened its doors a year ago or so, this new bar has a lot to offer with a special cigar lounge, terrace to chill outdoors, wine cellar, private room and more. This spot is ideal for sharing cold cuts or a cheese platter along with grapes. They regularly organize grape tasting nights.
Gorgeous decor, affordable pricing, and a large TV screen for whenever there is a sporting event!

MAZI
Where: St Regis at Saadiyat Island
The Vibes:
Saadiyat Island residents are so lucky to now have MAZI at their doorstep. This newcomer is ideal to spend a casual night out over a mocktail or cocktail to pair with a couple of Greek bites to share. We were lucky enough to taste some of their signature dishes and were amazed by the freshness, unique recipes, and fair pricing. You’ll just want to try everything on their menu!

Our old favorites
HAKKASAN ABU DHABI
Where: at Emirates Palace
The Vibes:
Year after year, Hakkasan Abu Dhabi located inside the iconic Emirates Palace never disappoints and sets the bar high with its dramatic views and modern Cantonese cuisine. If you are already familiar with the restaurant, don’t forget they just reopened their terrace overlooking the opulent grounds of Emirates Palace.
We are fans of the lounge vibes with the wooden cabanas and white curtains floating in the air that give some privacy, breathtaking views over the majestic Emirates Palace shining at nighttime, The Jumeirah Towers and many other buildings illuminated at night, this spot always makes us realize how beautiful the city we live in is.
A spot we highly recommend whenever to visitors so they can enjoy the views while indulging on the bespoke cocktail menu with Hakkasan Cantonese sophisticated bites.

BUDDHA BAR BEACH
Where: The St Regis Saadiyat Island Resort

If you haven’t yet visited, this spot is the first permanent location from the award-winning Buddha-Bar concept. Buddha-Bar Beach Abu Dhabi offers nightly entertainment six days a week with a resident DJ, percussionist, saxophonist and violinist. Located off the beach, Buddha-Bar Beach is definitely unique thanks to its location and offers a very distinct lounge experience serving up luxury, fun nights and great music.
Come enjoy your favorite cocktails and gourmet bar snacks, with a front-row seat to the most stunning beach views in Abu Dhabi, while resident artists DJ pump out live music on the luxe terrace lounge throughout the week.
